We’ve reached the end of our 3rd 6-monthly giving cycle, and after shortlisting two incredible charities (see the post here for more info), we’re very happy to announce that Purple House have been selected by our Giving community as the preferred partner.
This means we’ll be able to make a $14,000 contribution towards Purple House later this month. We’ll spend the coming months sharing the story of how that donation is making an impact toward their work. We also have plans for a visit later this year - watch this space! 👀
Operating from a base in Mparntwe (Alice Springs), Purple House has been getting patients with advanced kidney disease home on Country for two decades through the provision of remote dialysis services, as well as creating a culturally safe space with wrap around services for when people are in town. The organisation’s unique, award-winning model of care prioritises people, Country, culture and compassion. This model has changed lives and been the catalystfor extraordinary growth and innovation to meet the needs of patients and communities on their terms.
Our donation will specifically assist the running of their Primary Health Care (PHC) Service, which supports patients and their families who have travelled to Alice Springs for treatment. It also provides wraparound allied health and community health services to the local community. You can read more about Purple House’s awesome work here. We also loved reading their strategic plan which you can find here.
We can’t wait to spin some great yarns about Purple House and their impact over the coming months. Giving Cycle 4 will run from January 2025-June 2025, allowing us to once more build up funds to contribute to a brand new parter in the middle of the year.
Right now we're working on new strategies to expand our community in Queensland Hospitals and beyond. If you’d like us to present at your hospital teaching, or you’d be keen to be an ambassador for One For Health at your hospital, get in touch and we’d love to support you!
Cheers,
Oliver
